You know the feeling you get when you think you’ve offended someone, be it by something you said or did. You tend to see and feel a change in how they react and respond to you. And as much as they tell you it’s all good and you got nothing to worry about, their behavior says otherwise.
You tend to feel really bad cause you know you ruined a happy or a good mood unintentionally. You feel even worse when you ask and apologize and they try to brush it off, then get pissed at you for insisting on your apology. You’re just trying to be nice and elevate the situation, but I guess that’s not what they want. You can’t even pretend it didn’t happen cause they’ll view you as entitled and like that was your aim all along. You feel like you should just abandon the ship all together.
It’s not cool. As much as the offended party wants that story done and over with, just accept the apology cause we’ll continue feeling bad about it and we’ll continue insisting. At the end, you become irritated and more angry. We don’t need bad blood for something that can be easily solved.
